About this site
A reference site for people buying vehicle-based out-of-home advertising, operated by a company that runs it. Both halves of that sentence matter, so here they are in full.
Who runs it
cartopadvertisement.com is operated by Firefly, a digital out-of-home advertising company that builds and runs car top display networks across US markets. We are not an independent review site pretending to have no stake. We have a stake, we have said so on every page since launch, and the useful thing we can offer in exchange is access to what actually happens on these campaigns.
Why it exists separately from fireflyon.com
Firefly's own site answers questions about Firefly. This one answers questions about the category: what a wrap costs across the market, when an LED truck beats a car top, how impressions in out-of-home are modelled, what the industry's favourite statistics actually trace back to. Those questions deserve an answer that is not a product page, including when the honest answer is that a different format, or no vehicle campaign at all, is the right call.
What we can show that others cannot
Firefly's campaign archive holds 3,783 photographs of live campaigns covering 603 brands across 21 US markets and 21 vehicle formats. A selection runs on the campaign archive page. Every image on this site is from that archive or is clearly a stock photograph where no real frame exists for that format yet.
How we handle numbers
- A statistic without a named source and a date does not get published. If we cannot trace it, we delete it rather than soften it.
- Where the industry quotes a figure that does not survive being checked, we say so instead of repeating it. Three examples are on the results page.
- Pricing on this site is always market-level, compiled from published third-party sources, and never attributed to Firefly. Firefly quotes per campaign and does not publish a rate card. Nothing here is a quote.
- Where we get something wrong, we correct the page and record what changed rather than editing it away quietly.
Who writes the content
Guides are written by Melih Koray, Marketing at Firefly, and reviewed before publication by the CarTop Advertisement Editorial Team. Melih Koray works in marketing at Firefly, a digital out-of-home advertising company operating car-top and taxi-top display networks across major U.S. markets. He writes the guides on this site and sources every figure in them.
Who this site is not for
Drivers looking to earn money carrying advertising. It is a real and reasonable thing to want, and it is not what this site does. Nothing here is written to recruit vehicles, and the contact form does not collect driver applications.
Contact
Advertisers, agencies, fleet operators and press can reach us through the contact form. It goes to a monitored queue, not an autoresponder.
